What You Can Do

We suggest a range of actions that you can take to inject Global Good Neighbor into the public debate about our international relations.

Our goal is that individuals, organizations, and policymakers embrace the Global Good Neighbor framework as their own. That means seizing hold of the idea that U.S. foreign policy should be guided by good neighbor principles—and then taking that concept into your discussions with friends, neighbors, and constituents whenever the topic is international relations.

1. Spreading the Word
• Tell Your Friends and Neighbors.
• Tell Your Congressional Representative about Global Good Neighbor.
• Download and Distribute GGN Education Package (including Talking Points, Description, Principles).
• Incorporate Global Good Neighbor Language into your own writing and talking about U.S. foreign policy.
• Write Letter about GGN to Local Newspaper.
• Pass on the GGN Flash Video.
• Ask that Local Radio Stations broadcast the GGN PSAs.
2. Keep Informed About GGN Progress (Subscribe to GGN News)
3. Participate in GGN Initiative
• Endorse GGN
• Bring GGN to the attention of your church or organization, circulate the GGN educational package, and suggest that they use the GGN framework.
• Nominate Good and Bad Global Neighbors.
• Tell Us Your Stories.
• We will circulate your stories and anecdotes about Global Good Neighbor actions that serve as a model for a more effective U.S. foreign policy.
• Tell us why you or your organization supports the Global Good Neighbor framework for foreign policy. (See What Others are Saying about Global Good Neighbor).

Inspired by Franklin D. Roosevelt's vision of international relations guided by "mutual respect" and cooperation, the IRC’s Global Good Neighbor Initiative is reclaiming this legacy by promoting dialogue and action aimed at forging a new animating vision for foreign policy in our time:
